For as long as we can remember Ducati superbikes were known for their formidable V-twin format complete with a lightweight chassis and peak cylinder power. That, however, changes today thanks to the all-new Ducati Panigale V4 – the first mass-produced Ducati bike to host a four-cylinder engine.

In short, this all-new Desmosedici Stradale V4 90° engine boasts a beefy displacement of 1103cc that’s good for an incredible output of 214 HP and 91.5 lb-ft of torque. The brand even offers up a Speciale edition outfitted with a titanium Akrapovic racing exhaust that’ll give you 226 horses on demand. Moreover, it retains a lightweight characteristic – albeit a bit heavier than the 1299 thank to two additional cylinders – but still clocks in at a highly respectable dry weight of 386 lbs. Additionally, Ducati kept the engine as a pivotal element of the frame and added some Showa Big Piston Forks, a Sachs shock, and starring damper as well for good measure. New Brembo Stylema monobloc brakes are also mounted to this incredibly quick ride and a full electronics upgrade – including a Ducati Traction Control EVO, Slide Control EVO, and ABS Cornering Bosch EVO among many others. It’s also available in two upgradable trims and could quite possibly be the bike to beat in 2018.
