For as much as we love Apple and their AirPods – we knew it was only matter of time before those little headphones were going to be blown out of the water by some high-end audio company. Well, that time is finally here. Introducing Bang & Olufsen’s Beoplay E8.

While looks are never the chief concern when it comes to audio-equipment, it certainly doesn’t hurt that these headphones boast a great design. Unlike the Apple AirPods that dangle out of the inner-ear, these sit almost totally flush against the skull for a sleek, low profile look. As far as audio quality is concerned – these boast the full, rich sound that B&O have built their entire business on. And thanks to an accompanying equalizer app, users can tinker with those settings until they get them to their liking. To top all of this off, the headphones also have touch controls that allow you to play or pause music, take calls, adjust volume, and even activate ‘transparency’ mode – a feature that allows more ambient noise in. Keep an eye out for these, they’ll be made available in two colors come mid-October.

Purchase: $300
