Smartwatches are hardly a new thing, but that doesn’t mean that all the possibilities have been tapped. While their Blaze was widely perceived as a smartwatch, its functionality is minimal when compared to the new Ionic. In fact, this new offering was built with onboard GPS, music storage and playback, mobile payment options, customizable watch faces, and water-resistance – making it a strong market competitor. And because it’s Fitbit, the Ionic is still fitness-focused – offering heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, goal setting, and even has a new Personal Coaching function. If you’re a gym rat and you’ve been waiting for a good smartwatch to come along, the $300 Ionic is it. It hits the market this October.
