Premiering last week in London, Rolls-Royce unveiled what many believe is the most luxurious Rolls-Royce to date – which is saying a lot for the iconic 113-year-old company known for their opulent automobiles. It’s their latest installment in the Phantom series – dubbed the Phantom VIII – boasting a whole new contemporary design for the modern driver.

It all begins with what Rolls-Royce calls their all new aluminum “Architecture of Luxury” that delivers a lighter, stiffer, and quieter Phantom. From here the shape of the Phantom VIII lends itself to a smooth design with limited panel joint lines making it appear as it’s carved from a single piece of aluminum. The headlights here are a first as well – boasting laser light technology that can shine up to 600 meters into the night. The luxury ride also comes to life courtesy of a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine delivering 586HP and 664 lbs-ft of torque. However, with a 6mm two-layer glazing all around the car and 286-pounds of sound insulation, this is the most silent motor car in the world despite its massive power plant. Not bad right?

The Phantom VII also hosts some of the most advanced technology around including an alertness assistant, 4 camera system including a helicopter view, night vision and vision assist, a high-resolution head-up display, and the latest navigation and entertainment systems.
