While they are certainly most well known for their furniture, Ikea actually does dabble a bit in the food space. For most of us, our familiarity doesn’t go much further than their in-store cafes. But, you can actually buy the food they have created for home consumption. And now, it seems, they’ve taken it a step further by incorporating their food items into a very interesting simplified “cookbook” (for lack of a better term) that they call the Easy Recipe Series.
Though the recipes are limited to just a few, each is printed on parchment paper with food-safe ink. That means, to create the dish, you simply lay out your food in proper amount on the spaces outlined on the parchment paper, roll the meal together, place it on a cooking sheet, and bake it. Then, in just 20 minutes, you can have an easy and delicious home-cooked meal. It’s kind of like their illustrated furniture assembly instructions, except a whole lot less frustrating and far more satiating. Unfortunately, this promotion only ran for a day in Canadian Ikeas, but we hope the brand realizes how cool it is and revisits it with a much wider release sometime in the near future.
