2017 VUHL 05RR Roadster
So now that summer is officially here, it’s a safe bet to say that you have at the very least overheard or been aware of the attempt to get a ‘beach body’. Like most pledges or attempts to follow through on resolutions, not a whole lot of people actually follow through with it in the end. VUHL, on the other hand, has slimmed down and beefed up their minimal roadster and dubbed it the 05RR.
As one would expect, the car was put on a serious carbon fiber diet. VUHL’s newest model features the super lightweight material on components ranging from the wheels to the body work, all contributing to the 1,411 pounds dry weight (just about 120 pounds lighter and boasting 100 more horses than the previous model). Due to that fact, this roadster is up to 25 percent more powerful than the original 05 released two years ago. The body on this isn’t the only thing worth mentioning, however, this roadster is up to 25 percent more powerful than the original 05 released two years ago. Thanks to a 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine that puts out 385 horses and 369 pound feet of torque through a 6 speed sequential gearbox, it can hit 62 miles per hour from a standstill in just 2.7 seconds – a full second faster than the previous model. Along with this impressive sprint time, the low center of gravity makes it so the car can still handles beautifully. If you think you have spot for a tiny beast in your garage, you’ll have to wait until the brand officially announces the prices.
