It’s no secret Kawasaki remains one of the premier superbike manufacturers in the world. The Japanese builder simply does a fantastic job of marrying sleek designs with gut-wrenching power that’s track tested and rider approved. So when we saw their newest edition to the family, the 2017 Ninja ZX-12RR, we knew this was bound to make a splash within the bike world.
To start, let it be known this one-seater superbike boasts plenty of power thanks to a 998cc four-cylinder engine that’s nestled subtly in the Ninja’s dark design. In fact, the engine was built using reinforced engine cases, helping it to stand up to harsh handling during races. It also features Kawasaki’s Quick Shifter, allowing for clutchless upshifts and downshifts and a new modified cylinder head along with carbon-coated tappets and a highly rigid and reinforced crankcase. The Ninja is also light on its feet thanks to a pair of Marchesini forged aluminum wheels and a titanium exhaust system meeting race specifications. It’ll all be made available next year for around $18,900. [Purchase]
