2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon

Heading to a showroom near you this year is the brand new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon edition, a 4×4 and four-door beauty in off-road precision and execution. Jeep is using this release to replace the sorely missed Rubicon Hard Rock and, with any luck, this release will act to overshadow any disappointed Rubicon fans.

Everything remains the same under the hood. Instead, the Recon features a stronger Dana 44 with heavy-duty forgings. Also, the Recon’s front and rear differentials are stronger as well. The new Rubicon also hosts a half-inch lift and the same Tru-Lok locking differentials and Rock-Trac transfer case as the former Hard Rock. The ride also comes stock with 17-inch wheels wrapped within 32-inch BF Goodrich KM tires. However, the rock rails were reshaped with this new iteration in order to allow owners the freedom to upgrade to 35-inch tires without any issues. Red stitching and seatbelts also adorn the interior. Two-door versions start at $40,140 and four doors at $43,940. Look for the Recon to hit dealerships at the end of this month.
