In an effort to push the boundaries of two-wheeled insanity, Ducati has just released images for its 2017 1299 Superleggera. It’s a racing bike, yes, but with enough power to scare the daylights out of even the most seasoned rider. Perhaps it’s a novelty or a dare? Whatever the case, the Superleggera offers both attractive aesthetics and supreme power between the wheels.
Boasting a power-to-weight ratio unlike anything Ducati’s ever produced before, this 215 horsepower beast hosts one of the most powerful production V-twin engines around and only weighing in at 344 lbs; that’s 40 percent less that the aluminum Ducati Panigale 1299. It’s all thanks to the bike’s ultra lightweight carbon fiber frame, subframe, wheels, and swingarm. The Superleggera also features an Ohlins fork and rear stock, Akrapovic titanium exhaust, Brembo brakes, traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, and cornering anti-lock brakes. And to top off the exquisite nature of this bike, Ducati only plans on offering 500 of these bad boys so time is of the essence in this case. Pricing available upon request. [Purchase]
