Great Scott! The beloved time machine from Back To The Future is making its way back to the assembly line as the DeLorean motor company announces they will release a 2017 DeLorean DMC-12.

So why fire up the flux capacitor after 34 years of dormancy? Well the company thinks with all the BTF hype, the timing is right – and they plan on striking while the iron is still hot. The new model will be a replica of the 1982 version, and everything has already been approved by the federal government, so this isn’t just some internet rumor that will fall flat on its face in the coming months. The aesthetics we all know and love will remain in tact, but all of the other necessary components will be updated to modern day standards. The Texas-based company will build about 300 DeLoreans using existing materials, with a window sticker of $100,000. They even plan on offering up a refurbished model for about $50,000. You can expect the first DeLorean to hit the streets in the early part of 2017.
