A lot of folks have been referring to the recent images of the NSX GT3 out on the Gingerman Raceway in Michigan as the car being ‘stripped’ or ‘naked’. We don’t think this carbon fiber beast from Acura is naked so much as it’s just showing its true colors.
In the lead up to the upcoming Pirelli World Challenge in 2017, Acura rolled out this track-ready version of their NSX for a spin in the rain without the wrapper on and it’s just hard not to stare at. The curves and lines on the vehicle’s all carbon fiber body pop that much more thanks to the subtle patterns in the super lightweight material. As far as the engine goes, the car features a 3.5 liter V6 that sends power to the rear wheels through a six speed sequential gearbox. No word on all the usual specs, but the street legal version of the NSX boasts 573 horses and 476 pound feet of torque and can hit 191 miles per hour, so it is safe to assume most if not all of the GT3’s numbers are a bit north of that. Now we just hope other car makers take the cue and show off all the carbon they’re hiding.
