It was really just a matter of time before we started to see electric ATVs hitting the market. First we had the buzz about electric cars, then motorcycles, and now it looks like Daymak has kicked off the buzz about electric powered off-roaders with their brand new Ultra Beast ATV.
The Canadian manufacturer of off-road electric scooters did the model of vehicle right by fitting it with not one, not two, but three beefy electric motors. Yeah, you read that right. This all wheel drive ATV has two 500 watt motors that power the front two wheels, and one 1,000 watt motor that powers the rear two wheels. These motors are powered by two separate battery packs, one for the rear and another for the front – making it so each can draw their own independent power. The impressive electric engine setup pays off both in terms of power and range. The Ultra Beast ATV can hit speeds of just over 30 miles an hour, climb up inclines of up to 30 degrees, and can go for 75 miles before needing a charge – something you can track on the digital instrument cluster displayed on an Android tablet. Whether you use it as a toy for tooling around the woods in, or as a vehicle for clearing snow – it is more than capable of getting the job done. Prices start at $6,000. [Purchase]
