It wasn’t until around 1960 that Toyota entered its FJ40 Land Cruiser into the world of off-road capable vehicles that could take a serious beating. The success of which helped put the Japanese automotive company on the map for the west. A few years later, the FJ45 pickup became known as an even more resilient variant to the Land Cruiser, this ’64 model notwithstanding.

Fully restored with the help from some Toyota technicians, this cleaned-up FJ45 now features a 4,320 cc OHV six-cylinder engine, four-speed manual transmission, part-time all-wheel drive, a hydraulic front disc and rear drum base. There’s also an obvious light tan paint job, brand new gray upholstery in the interior, a new radiator, shock absorbers, pedal pads and windshield weather strip among plenty others. It’s a handsomely restored beauty that’s actually up for auction next month through RM Sotheby’s where it’s slated to sell between $50,00 and $70,000. [Purchase]
