Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6

Feast your eyes on the Vision, premiering at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, as Mercedes-Maybach’s attempt to send Tesla running for the hills. It’s an 18-foot long two-door coupe, similar to the famed Maybach Exelero that’s over a decade old.

In appearance, the car features a long nose with a tapering tail and lights that make the vehicle look like it’s morphing through time-space. It’s an elongated exercise in luxury excess that boasts as much power under the hood as it does shimmer and shine on the surface. Powering the coupe are four electric motors that produce a combined 738 horsepower, getting the car up to 62 mph in under four seconds. Each of the motors is then powered by an 80-kWh battery as well, giving the Vision a range of 200 mph per charge. It can be plugged in or charged wirelessly as well. Inside, the Vision features a wrap-around glass trim doubling as a display and touch surface. The windshield displays any necessary information and the seats boast lighting and massage features based on rider apparel and condition. Will it ever make it into production? Probably not. But it is an interesting window into the future of car manufacturing.
