When we’re talking throwbacks, they can go one of two ways: either successfully or terribly wrong. And you know it’s done successfully when you feel a sense of joyous nostalgia wash over you, reminiscing on the decades long gone. Well, it appears Dodge did the right thing with their 2017 Challenger T/A, throwing it way back to the T/A models of the 70s.
For starters, the Challenger T/A comes in two available trims, either the 5.7-liter V8 or the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 offering a little extra juice under the hood. Output wise, drivers will still feel the 375 horsepower behind the 5.7-liter and 485 horsepower behind the 6.4 Hemi, not an upgrade from previous models but the aesthetics are definitely here to impress. Each trim gets a satin black hood alongside the satin black front fascia, roof, rear decklid, and body racing stripes. And if you look closely, the 2017 Challenger’s 20-inch Mopar wheels are satin black as well. Inside a range of options are available ranging from heated and vented Nappa leather seats to a six-speaker stereo, an 8.4-inch infotainment system, and a shortcut button for the performance pages. Orders for the T/A open in October, with prices starting at $38,485.
