Classified Moto has been customizing lots of Yamaha XV’s recently, but by their own admission this Free Range 920 built for Kristian Niemi, chef and owner of Bourbon and Rosso Trattori, will be their last for a while. The bike, built for aggressive performance both on and off road, stays within the distinctive style of the shop; stripped-down, aggressive, and most importantly – unique.
The Richmond, Virginia based shop kept the 1982 Yamaha X920R’s stock swingarm, but upgraded the shock to a Progressive Suspension 465 shock, and replaced the the chain with a DID Gold X-Ring. Classified Moto also threw on a custom stainless steel slash-cut exhaust connected to a v-twin engine that tapers off under the body. The wheels on the original bike were replaced with Warp 17″ supermotos with a Shinko 700 series tire on the front, and a Kenda Big Block on the rear. A beautiful old leather seat paired with a repurposed cargo basket provide the perfect finishing touch. Again, this bike is custom for Kristian Niemi (lucky man), but be sure to check out Classified Moto’s other offerings.
