It’s now been 25 years of the Mazda Miata, and if the hype surrounding the fourth generation is any indication, the iconic roadster isn’t about to slow down.

Mazda has taken some but not all of the wraps off the 2016 version of the MX-5 Miata, as we can see the gorgeous, more tailored body here, but what exactly is under the hood remains a mystery. We do know “specially tuned SKYACTIV-G petrol engines and the first rear-wheel drive version of the SKYACTIV-Chassis” will be on board, and that the already petite sports car will now be some 220 pounds lighter. Of course we know it’ll be a a four-cylinder engine powering the rear wheels, but for now, we’ll have to make due with just soaking in the smooth aesthetics.
