2016 Ford Shelby GT350
Forget forced induction. Ford is ditching superchargers in favor of a naturally aspirated animal pumping out over 500 ponies. Say hello the gorgeous 2016 Ford Shelby GT350.
Debuting before the Los Angeles auto show is yet another gem from the American auto maker. Rather than building a muscle car for the straight line dragsters, Ford is looking to create a real track contender with this beauty. The Shelby GT350 is a well rounded vehicle, equipped with a 5.2-liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine will pump out north of 500 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, with a much improved torque curve that will make the power much more usable on the road. Rather than build something reminiscent of the almighty GT500, Ford seems to be adopting a more track-ready, Boss 302 inspired model here. The 2-door will be the first Ford to be outfitted with magnetic dampers, and will also feature massive Brembo brakes, an aluminum hood with widened fenders to accommodate those 19-inch wheels, along with both a rear diffuser and lip spoiler. More specific details will be rolled out as the Shelby GT350 makes its official debut at the L.A. Auto Show.
