Audi is looking to take out a big chunk of the luxury sedan market with their latest, the S8 Plus, which produces a whopping 605 horsepower from a 4.0L V8 TSFI engine.
The S8 Plus’ engine puts out 516 lb-ft of torque, hitting 0-62 mph in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 189 mph. In fact, this vehicle actually beats the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and BMW 760Li, the two leading luxury supersedans, to 60mph. While the engine is the driving force behind its speed, it also helps that the S8 Plus uses their patented Space Frame, which features a body made mostly of lightweight aluminum and weighs a total of 509 pounds. It also features an eight-speed tiptronic transmission, quattro all-wheel-drive with sport differential and 21-inch wheels. It doesn’t sound like Audi has any plans to bring this luxury sedan Stateside yet, as they’ve only announced a German release. The S8 Plus will be available in Europe for $158,200.
