Beginning with a craze of small living spaces in Japan, micro-apartments are making their way west, and space conservation expert Simon Woodroffe – the man behind the Yotel and YO! sushi chain – is jumping on board with YO! Home designs that bring luxury to the average buyer. The intent is to make every home a literal castle by manipulating the way space is used.

Using the philosophy that economical use of space can be every bit as classy and luxurious as a 10,000 square-foot manor, the YO! Home is meant to allow for a small floor plan to have all the amenities of a sprawling estate without the cost. Floorplans are maximized by using simple electronics combined with minimizing techniques to permit compacted function to combine with expanded form. With kitchens hidden in closets and beds that disappear into the ceiling, you may soon be able to turn your bungalow into an affordable palace.
