Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight ‘Hooligan Tactics’ by Rough Crafts

Turning a Harley-Davidson into a streetfighter-style motorcycle is the kind of ambitious project that we’d never dream of undertaking ourselves, but we’d sure love to see it if someone else did. Well, Winston Yeh of Rough Crafts has, and has done so quite well.

Dubbed “Hooligan Tactics,” the project began with a slightly modified Harley Forty-Eight whose owner gave Yeh free rein to do whatever he liked with it. An XR1200 swingarm that Yeh had lying around inspired the custom build, with inverted forks (from a Suzuki GSX-R600) and piggyback shocks from Progressive Suspension following soon after. He designed and made the triple trees and a custom axle, and also cut the radial caliper mount on the right-hand side. The forged billet aluminum wheels are from Arlen Ness’ 10-Gauge range, anodized in black, and are now 18 inches, compared to the stock Harley Forty-Eight’s 17”. The matching composite rotors are from Lyndall Brakes, and the tires are Dunlop’s hardcore Sportmax. Very impressive.
