The well-respected BMW custom creators at Madrid-based Café Racer Dreams have decided to flex their muscles on another boxer bike. This time it’s an 84-model BMW R100, dubbed simply CRD #58, that was built for a regular customer who lives in Nice, France… so that guy sounds like he’s got a nice life going for himself.
Working simply off of a napkin sketch based on the original R100 fuel tank, the CRD steel artists began to do their thing. A 1972 Puch Minicross tank was picked up and put into play, followed by an 86ing of the subframe for a solo seat configuration. A pair of Hagon XL shocks were fitted to compensate for the gap brought on by the seating change. The seat is custom-made with a built-in LED tail light, and the rear fender is a re-purposed R100 front fender mounted on a hand-made brace. Other highlights include the forks, front hub and brake disc coming from a 1994 BMW F650, and Continental TKC80 tires covering 19” front- and 18″ spoked rear wheels.
