2015 Volkswagen Beetle GRC
Volkswagen is bringing on a whole new meaning to the words Super Beetle as they give us our first look at the 2015 VW Beetle GRC.
Built specifically to compete in this year’s Global Rallycross Championship, this off-road super car is packed with a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine that puts down 553 horsepower along with 465 lb-ft of torque. The power is pumped to all four wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox along with a pair of limited-slip differentials. This setup helps the Beetle hit 60 mph in just two seconds from a dead stop. That’s faster than a Bugatti Veyron, just to put things into perspective. Other features include a redesigned suspension system with 9.5 inches of travel, and a monstrous set of brakes (14-inch up front 11.8-inch out back) mated to four-piston calipers. Meanwhile, 17-inch alloys wrapped in Yokohama competition tires help the Super Beetle grip to the gravel and dirt. The Beetle will be driven by Tanner Foust.
