2015 Mastercraft X20: The Boat for Wakesurfing
It can be tough to find great waves for your surfboarding pleasure, as many of us don’t live right on the beach. So those looking to ride some waves have taken up wakeboarding, taking advantage of rivers and lakes by using their own boat’s wake to create their own waves. But now action sports junkies have taken things a step further, combining wakeboarding with surfing to create a new, fast growing sport called wake surfing. The folks at Mastercraft saw an opportunity, and created the X20–the first boat specifically crafted to make great surfable waves.
The Mastercraft X20 is 20 feet long and is said to turn any body of water into a premium oceanfront property. It uses 2,000 pounds of ballast that is easily filled or drained to tailor to a rider’s preference. It also uses a scientifically designed hull that produces wakes that appear to have come from a much larger boat. And, as an added bonus, the X20 doesn’t sacrifice anything as far as visual appeal is concerned. [Purchase]
