Being a golfer is the pits this time of year — when the snow hits the ground, it’s nearly unbearable for avid golfers. We like to compare golfing over the summer and being forced to stop because of the winter with that feeling you get when you’re driving on the highway and get off on your exit — you just want to keep going fast! Perfecting your golf swing is nearly impossible when you’re stuck indoors, but one thing that will give you some much needed practice is the OptiShot 2 Golf Simulator, a small rig that works with Mac or Windows PCs that lets you practice your game with either real or foam balls using your own golf clubs.

The OptiShot 2 Golf Simulator has an infrared optical swing pad with sixteen precision-tuned, high-speed 48MHz infrared sensors to track your club movement. This allows the golfer to get real-time feedback on their club’s speed, face angle, swing path, distance made, face contact and shot shape.

Of course, the included OptiShot Golf 3D software presents everything wonderfully in high-definition with 18 holes (minus all of the walking or carting). It also lets you hit real balls on replaceable turf, and use your own clubs.

And, better yet, you won’t have to worry about being kicked out for sneaking in one of those beer golf club things because, well, it’s your house dammit. For $499.95, you can purchase the OptiShot 2 Golf Simulator from their online store. [Purchase]
