Pahking the cah might be fun to say in Boston, but unless you’re raising the stakes with a high speed back-in to your spot, parking is generally a tedious necessary exercise once you’ve arrived at your destination.

The tech guys at BMW know this, and they’ve got something to alleviate your parking pain. The fully automated Remote Valet Parking Assistant – when used with a BMW i3 research vehicle – uses the vehicle’s four laser scanners with the digital site plan of a building to go ahead and park without you inside. Smartwatch activation enables the system to steer its way around any obstacles and find its way to the nearest space. Once parked, it locks itself and waits to be activated again by smartwatch or voice command. Once you let it know you’re on your way, the vehicle then meets you at the car park.
