Jaguar Special Operations Lightweight E-Type
Once upon a time, the Jaguar brand was synonymous with style and quality, but somewhere along the line the brand lost some of its appeal, mostly due to better-designed automobiles. While the brand has been doing a great job getting themselves back into the game in recent years, Jaguar is really looking to solidify things with the Special Operations project, a collection of vintage lightweight E-Types.
Everything in the new hand-built E-Types will be 100 percent exactly the same as it was over 50 years ago – keep the curb weight exactly the same as 1963, when Jaguar originally built the D-Type successor. Jaguar will only be making six of these throwback performance cars, and they’re hand-picking the drivers to ensure that the E-Types see legitimate racing action. Each iconic 2-seater will be packed with the six-cylinder XK engine that features an aluminum block and wide-angle aluminum cylinder head to help get the most performance out of this beauty.
