The Chevrolet Niva Concept isn’t technically set to make its debut until the upcoming Moscow International Auto Show, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a sneak peek today.

Set to be released as a 2016 model, this SUV is being built as a go-anywhere, tackle any terrain vehicle. The aesthetics are somewhat reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class (those rear quarter windows specifically), and sees a snorkel, engine protection for the front axle, roof rack equipped with spare wheel, and 16-inch wheels outfitted with a set of off-road tires. As for the power plant, early reports indicate a 135-horsepower 1.8-liter four cylinder sourced from the folks at Peugeot. Of course time will tell, but we’re liking what we see thus far.
