We haven’t really thought much about Gone in 60 Seconds since we saw it some 14 years ago (that’s the one where Nicholas Cage does a lot of overacting, right?), but we do recall there were some ferocious automobiles in that film.

Now the prized possession from the movie, a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 named “Eleanor,” is hitting the Mecum auction block in August. There were 11 of them made, with three being working vehicles, and this is one of them. Built by Cinema Vehicle Services of North Hollywood, California, with the timeless design by Steve Stanford, this Eleanor features a custom body kit with fender flares, side exit exhaust, trunk lid and hood; a Ford Racing 351 CI crate motor; 4-speed transmission; Go Baby Go shifter knob; Schmidt 17″ wheels; 4-wheel disc brakes; Holley 700 CFM 4-barrel carburetor; side exit exhaust added by CVS after the movie’s completion; and A letter of authenticity from Ray Claridge of CVS.
