Matt Groening’s ‘Futurama’ may have gotten axed (for the 2nd time) last year, but that hasn’t stopped fellow fan and artist Alexey Zakharov from creating this amazing Futurama 3D intro.

Fans of the show will instantly recognize the 30-second video clip from the opening credits of the show – right down to the model of the Planet Express zipping by the screen. The artist used a combination of several different pieces of editing software including 3dsmax, Nuke, Photoshop and After Effects to create this shot, and the end result is stunning. The music used in the video is “Forrest Gump Suite” by Alan Silvestri. We would have preferred the traditional intro theme, but hey, we’re not complaining. Here’s to hoping the show finds its way back to the small screen for a third time in the near future.
