After all the years of people saying “you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to ___,” we have finally found out what one really does have to be a rocket scientist for: to create high-performance cooking pans.

Yes, the Flare Pans were developed in conjunction with Dr. Tom Povey, a real-life rocket scientist from Oxford University. The FIN-X technology (see those little ‘fins’ on the side?) help quickly and evenly spread heat from the flame across the bottom and up the sides of the pan. The promised result is a 44% faster cooking time for all your homemade meals and much less energy spent in the process. The pans are formed from cast aluminum with stainless steel handles and fins, and they’re oven safe up to 400°F. [Purchase]
