If you’ve avoided camping in recent years due to a disdain for those miniscule blood-suckers aiming at your delicate flesh, we hear that. But if you’ve stayed out of the woods because your phone won’t be able to charge, that excuse is about to get toasted like a marshmallow.

The BioLite BaseCamp Stove does an amazing thing: It converts heat from a wood fire into usable electricity via a thermoelectric generator, which then sends power to a USB port. That means you can plug in your gear while you’re cooking up to 8 burgers at a time, resulting in some kind of metaphysical harmonic convergence thing for sure. The stove generates 5 watts of power and features folding legs for an adjustable cooking height, as well as a flexible USB light to help you see what you’re cooking. Kickstarter backers get a free carrying case too. [Purchase]
