Summer homes all have a certain air about them. If they aren’t open to the elements or integrated with the nature on site– chances are that it isn’t somewhere we will be spending our Summer holiday. Swedish architect Mats Fahlender and his client being childhood friends played a major role in the creation of such a versatile space on family land where they played growing up. This group of Summer Homes and their communal areas sit right on top of all that nature has to offer in Lysekil, Sweden for intense views and a whole lot of outdoor use.

Wrapped up in about 900 square feet of space, this particular space comes with a unique double barrel vaulted ceiling. The interior gives off a uniquely open and carefree vibe. The exterior facades consist of floor to ceiling glazing, cement boards and tin to provide a subtlety against the smoothed boulders on which these units sit. Elevated platforms and bridges allow the users to travel around freely on the property, having bedrooms separated from all of the public spaces– all segregated in different units.
