Pond Treehouse in Uslar, Germany

Dads everywhere, prepare for a massive jolt of inadequateness. German architect baumraum has taken the term “treehouse” – often used to describe a little hut in the backyard made out of a few 2x4s – and turned it into a head-turning retreat. Of course it’s not actually in a tree, but that’s just nitpicking. Any kid would flip over this.

Situated in Uslar, Germany, the project was originally intended to be in a tree, but the family that owns the land had no suitable ones on their property. So instead, baumraum built this two-story tower over an artificial pond, including a bed, two sets of stairs, benches, storage space, and even electricity. Looks like the odds of your winning that Dad of the Year trophy just got a little longer.
