It’s rare that the scooter enthusiast gets to chime in when his friends are talking about horsepower; usually it’s something like, “Scram kid, yer bahddering me.” But this time it’s different with this vintage Vespa PS 240 from Germany’s Scooter and Service.

They’ve managed to cram 38 hp into this extremely lightweight (under 200 lbs.) scooter, along with a straight-cut, 4-speed transmission. At 38 hp per wheel, that means this Vespa outclasses the Harley-Davidson Street 500, or even Honda’s and Kawasaki’s new entry-level sport bikes. There’s a long list of custom parts, including a new throttle system, bench tank, digital control center, highly flexible braided hoses, and more. Talk about a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
