Back in the days of the Atari 2600, the faux wood finish was a quaint touch. Sure, you needed six running hamsters to boot up Pitfall, but it worked well. Today, with game consoles being the technological marvels they are, it’s just too hot and crowded for hamsters in there. Well, maybe one or two, but not six. But hey, there’s good news: Wood is back!
Balolo has created the world’s first wooden cover for the PlayStation 4. It’s quite thin (just .7 mm), and cut precisely to fit every slope and slant on your shiny new Sony console. Each cover is made in Germany, and you can choose from bamboo, cherry, walnut, or zebra. Balolo says its tests have not shown any critical changes in temperature for the PS4, so that’s good. The first 1,000 pieces sold will be engraved with a serial number and come in a wooden box. [Purchase]
