We’re hoping this Zero Vespa Segway turns out to be a big thing, because if it gets big enough, mall security guards will have to trade in their Segways for these noticeably cooler Vespa-styled rides. But even if that doesn’t happen, there’s lots to like here.

Spanish design firm Bel & Bel see this more as a scooter than a Segway, though the Zero does work on the same Segway principle of two electric-powered wheels and a computer-controlled gyroscopic stabilizing system. Each electric-powered Zero is hand-built to order, with customization options including the paint color, trim, and even company logos. The makers say it should only take about 10 minutes to master the Zero, and it reaches a top speed of 12 mph. The Zero can also climb hills of up to 30 degrees. After about 18 miles of weaving through Sears and Bath and Body Works, you will need to recharge the battery.
