With more and more civilians booking trips into space, it’s probably time to start picking out some space-appropriate outfits. It starts here with the Space Jacket by Betabrand; a NASA-inspired thermal jacket that looks like what The Fonz would’ve probably worn to Saturn had Happy Days been given another couple of years of mindless plots to work through.
Designed by space nut Steven B. Wheeler, the jacket gets its inspiration from the exterior of the Space Shuttle, while the white, non-woven Tyvek shell looks a lot like what astronauts wear during spacewalks. The inside lining, silver nylon taffeta, retains body heat and looks pretty damn cool. A replica of the STS-53 shuttle mission patch, the old school NASA “worm” logo, and an American flag shoulder patch round out the styling. [Purchase]
