With more and more people opting for bicycles as their primary source of transportation, we’re faced with the problem of storage – or lack thereof. While a 2-wheeler may be faster and more convenient to get from Point A to Point B in urban areas, making a run to the local grocery store, or taking the little ones to daycare can be quite problematic. Thankfully the team at Butchers & Bicycles felt the same way, and are ready to release their MK1 Cargo Trike.

The Copenhagen based design team has been eating, sleeping and breathing the MK1 over the past few years, with the hopes of creating a cargo bike that would share the same enjoyability and ease of riding as your typical bicycle. To do this, the team engineered a Balance Point Tilting system that feels just like riding a pedal powered 2-wheeler, providing stability during high speed turns. The MK1 sports a powder-coated 7005 T6 aluminum frame, NuVinci N360 planetary hub transmission, and a spacious cargo container up front. Of course that cargo container can haul more than groceries as it has been outfitted with leather seats and a set of 3-point harnesses to strap the little ones in safely. It comes in your choice of either black or white. Watch the video below. [Purchase]
