Seeing as it is kinda witch-tata cold out there, it’s only fitting that we feature a motorcycle that was actually inspired by a wood-burning stove. Whereas other people see a wood stove and think warmth, Barata Dwiputra, lead builder of Thrive Motorcycle, said it was indeed the wood stove that inspired his customization of this classic 1968 Yamaha XS650.

The engine has been totally overhauled and the bodywork is all hand-fabricated, but the upgrades don’t stop there. The wheelbase was lengthened, the front end was lowered a smidgen, and brass and copper accents were applied all over. The rustic touches even apply to the area under the battery box as well; that’s where you’ll find a pair of leather belts meant to hold any vital accessories you might have.
