Luck favors the prepared is a mantra we’ve heavily embraced as we creep closer to the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Thankfully brands like Chevy share the same thought process, and have created their 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Black Ops Concept.

On display at the State Fair of Texas, this full-size pickup truck was created to tackle anything mother nature can dish, ranging from hurricanes to “unforeseen emergencies” – can anyone say zombie apocalypse? The 4×4 truck has been packed with a powerful 5.3 liter EcoTec3 V8 engine putting out 355 horsepower, but it’s the in the bolt-ons where things really get interesting for the Silverado Black Ops. The vehicle has been outfitted with custom lower body armor, raised suspension for additional ground clearance, a pair of gas masks, military First Aid Kit, solar power pack, generator and a whole lot more. There’s even water cans and a crate of food with plenty of Twinkies and Top Ramen to get us through any emergency. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Black Ops will be making its official debut at the upcoming SEMA 2013 Auto Show, and we are hoping this concept makes it to the production line.
