Step Into the Void Glass Box 3,400 Feet Over French Alps

If you’re ready to go all “I’m the king of the world!” on the Aiguille Du Midi mountains in the French Alps, but don’t wanna have to actually schlep up the side of a massive hill for that magic moment, here ya go. After a 20-minute cable ride, the Skywalk installation encourages visitors to check their guts before they step into a glass box suspended some 3,400 feet above the snowy, rocky terrain.

Aiguille du Midi is Europe’s highest mountain peak, and if you need a little comparison, the roof of the Empire State Building is a mere 1,250 feet high. The attraction (Step Into The Void) was said to be inspired by the Grand Canyon’s Skywalk, and it was designed by Pierre-Yves Chays who apparently fears heights about as much as David Blaine fears causing a scene.
