Dealing with a serious arm or back injury is just brutal; no doubt about it. Rough stuff. But that misery would probably be dampened a notch if you got to go wear a crazy cool device like the Titan Arm Exoskeleton. This is an upper body exoskeleton that boosts the wearer’s strength while also providing valuable data for users and doctors. Physical therapy just got exciting.

There’s a DC motor on the user’s back which is connected to a cable, but Team Titan says the Arm is ergonomic, lightweight, and powerful. It’s capable of augmenting the user’s arm strength by 18 kg while also preventing a poor lifting posture. The applications for Titan Arm range from physical therapy and mobility assistance, to helping stroke victims rebuild their muscles and get their motor control skills back. Doctors also stand to benefit from the technology which can be used to measure their patients’ progress. Check out the video below to see it in action.
