Based in Como, Italy, GDesign is a small custom motorcycle outfit headed up by one, Giacomo Galbiati: a seasoned metal fabrication guru with approximately four decades of experience putting two-wheelers under the grinder. Galbiati’s years in the industry have afforded him an ever-growing arsenal of finely-honed skills and techniques to call upon when turning his ideas into tangible metal, culminating in the shop’s latest work, a wildly elaborate and exquisitely-detailed Royal Enfield Bullet 500.
Drawing ample inspiration from pre-Depression-era board track racers, the half-liter Bullet boasts a bespoke stretched frame and swing-arm, a reinforced springer fork, and a set of 13-arm mag wheels shod in knobby rubber. Galbiati’s artistic metalworking skills are on full display as well in the form of custom-etched velocity stacks, and one-off tank that houses a stacked speedo and amp meter arrangement, and countless bespoke brass items scattered throughout the build. The bike now sports a reverse lever setup with internally-routed cabling, a projector headlight, an elaborate custom kick-stand, custom antique-style bars, and a gorgeous over-sized winged set of tank badges and a matching winged gas cap, as well.
