Born out of a joint effort between Dodge, Chrysler, ORECA, and Reynard Motorsport, the Viper GTS-R was the winningest and most celebrated American race car of the turn of the millennium era, with a record that included back-to-back-to-back class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a 12 Hours of Sebring win, an ALMS GTS Championship title, and half-a-dozen other notable victories. After making short work of the competition, the Team ORECA GTS-R graced the cover of numerous magazines and video game titles, and would ultimately inspire a generation of American motorsport enthusiasts that are now adults.
Following a hugely illustrious race career, this 2000 Dodge Viper GTS-R Ex-Works/Team ORECA car was restored back to its original Le Mans-spec. The vehicle still wears its iconic PlayStation livery, from the 2000 season. Powered by a 620hp 7,998.5cc V10 engine, this machine boasts all the hallmarks of a genuine exotic factory works racer, with billet aluminum spindles and wishbones, magnesium floors, a titanium fuel cell, and Kevlar-reinforced carbon fiber bodywork. Two-decades after its historic class win at Le Mans (where it placed 7th in total), this specimen is now for sale through LBI Limited in Philadelphia, where the price is available upon request.
