While their name certainly conjures images of luxury vehicles, Mercedes-Benz actually has a pretty storied history of creating ruggedized vehicles for the military, as well. One such vehicle is the G-Class ‘Wolf’ – a beefed-up permutation of their perennial SUV. And while it was made for the battlefield, the folks at Legacy Overland got their hands on this one and turned it into a civilian-friendly dream overlander.

This particular 1990 Mercedes-Benz G-Class ‘Wolf’ has gone through a complete restoration and has its share of upgrades – including a new Sandstorm Yellow on black paint job (including the skid plates on the underbelly) and a revamped distressed vegan leather interior. And that’s just the beginning, as it also features new LED lighting, a Pioneer 5-speaker Bluetooth stereo system, a Canadian military-style snorkel intake, a steel bull guard, and more. And, of course, under the hood sits a OM-series 5-cylinder diesel engine – one of the most reliable ever built.
