As far as Japanese automobiles are concerned, the Toyota Land Cruiser is perhaps the best platform on which to build an adventure-ready overlander of all time — both from a style and capability standpoint. One of Toyota’s larger, later four-door models, this was already a handsome 4×4 when it was first driven off the lot. But, after three decades, it’s benefitted from a superb renovation — turning it into the retro restomod you see before you. Boasting a factory 3F-E 4.0-liter inline-six engine, this off-roader’s modern updates include an ARB front bumper with a 9,000-pound capacity WARN winch, White Knuckle Off-Road sliders, a full-length roof rack basket with Rigid LED light bars at the front and rear, aftermarket wheels mated to all-terrain tires, and even a modern sound system. Fully serviced and ready for adventure, this vintage overlander is ready to see every inch of the world — even the hard-to-get-to ones.
