Though it went the way of the dodo back in 1991, the Jeep Wagoneer is still heralded as one of the best SUVs the Michigan-based auto manufacturer has ever built. In fact, if you know where to look, you can find serviceable versions presently available for purchase. This one, a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer dubbed the ‘Hellwagon,’ might just put all the other to shame.
This survivor actually still boasts its factory “Bright Red” paint job, wood paneling, and tan leather interior — all in pretty great condition, considering its age. In fact, from new, this SUV has just 51,981 miles on the odometer. However, most of those miles were on its original engine. Now, it’s been fitted instead with a monstrous 707HP Dodge Hellcrate engine — the crate version of the same one that powers the Hellcat. An only 500 miles have been put on it since the conversion. Best of all: it’s available to buy for $128,000.
