They say practice makes perfect, and this ethos is wonderfully encapsulated by the latest one-off work from Germany’s HB-Custom. HB had previously completed a Honda Dominator street scrambler commission for a customer last year, though after receiving an incredibly warm reception from the custom moto space, the shop’s head honcho Holger Breuer set out to create his own NX project built to his specific tastes.
Representing the Husum-based shop’s 41st build to date, the project started life as a 1988 Honda Dommie. After receiving a full engine teardown and rebuild, the Japanese dual-sport has been gifted a vintage Yamaha XT500 tank, custom hole-punched aluminum side covers, a bespoke leather saddle perched atop a scratch-built subframe, a YSS shock, 17” hoops (front and back) wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion rubber, LED lighting all around, a Motogadget Motoscope Mini display, top-shelf Magura controls, and a blacked-out livery with white and red accents on the tank. Completing this impressive street scrambler is a custom two-into-one-into-two exhaust setup culminating in a pair of blacked-out under-tail-mounted MX cans.
