If you’re a fan of old Toyota FJ’s, odds are you’ve heard about the Miami-based FJ Company. They build and restore some of the most magnificent FJ’s around, even making some available for sale to those with enough coin in their pocket and love in their heart. And since it is the week of the SEMA show, they decided against sitting on the sideline this year, going all in at Vegas this round with their Aspen Project.
Based on a 1982 Toyota FJ43 Land Cruiser, this truck was fully restored and now hosts a 4.5-liter Toyota 1FZ engine pushing out 280hp managed by an FJ80 Toyota 5-speed transmission. It was built with the intention of everyday driving but also taking to the snowy Colorado backcountry with ease. And with a custom roll cage, Old Man Emu suspension, a WARN winch, PIAA fog and utility lights along with a rear backup camera, we’d say this thing has what it takes. Let’s not forget about the Aspen’s vintage AC, Recaro SPEED seats, premium sound system and custom dashboard to round everything out quite well. Will it take to the trails with ease? Most definitely. Can you afford it? Probably not. She’s a beauty though that’s for sure.
